Áhlu-Sunna Waljamaca’ on Thursday declared jihad against
what they called ‘the Islamist strangers’ which they
mean the Islamist hardliners Al-Shabab after one of
Ahlu-Sunna’s prominent clerics killed on Wednesday
evening in Galkaayo town, of Mudug province in central
Somalia.
In an interview with Waagacusub Media, Sheik
Abdulahi Sheik Abdurrahman Ábu Yusuf, the spokesman of
Ahlu Sunna three unknown men armed with pistols shot
dead Sheik Ali Afyare as he was coming out of a mosque
after maqrib prayer where they escaped unharmed.
The spokesman said the men carried out were sent by Al
Shabab group who also injured Sheik Shurie night before.
“what we know is that the strangers earlier were behind
the killing of Sheik Hussein Sheik Harun and other
clerics.
“Why they killed the Sheik is for his Islamic belief
which is confronting their un-Islamic ideology, we beg
from Allah to die for his righteous way,” said
Abdirahman.
He called for all Somalis supporting their Sufi group to
join the jihad aimed to clear Al-Shabab Strangers from
the territory of Somalia.
He dismissed any attempt to reach agreement with Al-Shabab
and underlined all out war with he called ‘the misguided
men’ who are accustomed to killed the society’s clerics.
