Somalia: Is the cabinet posts gave out fairly?.

Many Somalis got big surprise about the list of the cabinet ministers of the national unity government when some of the former resigned president’s right wing politicians like Rashid Irro, Abdirisaq Jurile and Ali Jama Jangeli but things worsened after people found the cabinet missing from one of former Nor Adde’s government ministers that was Ahmed Abdisalam who was the mover and shaker of the policy that brought Sharif Sheik Ahmed as the president of Somalia.

“President Ahmed made happy to the former president Abdilahi Yusuf Ahmed and it is amazing how he kept us from joining the new cabinet but I do never mind if Somalis obtain law and order,” said one of the former ministers.

The minister who asked not to be named said the exclusion of Ahmed Abdisalam from the new cabinet was to pleasing former president Abdulahi Yusuf.

All the four key and half of the posts in the cabinet were given to the current president’s ally of the Alliance for Re-liberation of Somalia (ARS) like the foreign, finance, defense and interior ministries that means the ARS takes all the leading effective posts in the government.

Looking into the depth of the formation of the new government, it can not be said as a national unity government but mixed it with the violators of the former quitted president.

Analysts say president Sharif Ahmed did not play the game in which he can survive from the scandal he might possibly face during his administration for the role of confining cabinet to only those fighting beside along him and those allied with former ruler and that is little bit unfair.

Many says it was so wise if president Ahmed would choose Professor Ibrahim Hassan Adow as his political advisor and also name Abdirahman Abdishakur as his presidential spokesman.

“the real political justice in which president Ahmed gave out became that Abdishakur who is known in London as ’foolish man’ chosen as the minister of planning and international relationship while Ahmed Abdisalam whose political straggle widely known got into zero place or missed in the cabinet,” one of the diplomats in Djibouti told Waagacusub Media in condition of anonymity.

Once and for all, the formation of the cabinet dictated behind the curtail by moderate Sharif Sheik Ahmed and within it there appears no political equality could not be attributed as a government which can bring an end to the crisis the horn of the African nation ‘Somalia’ that had no functioning central state for the past 18 years.

However, we would see and wait how the new government much resembled with former can restore peace and stability in the country or will it be as exiled government that knows to waste time through traveling and enjoying abroad hotels with losing financial aid.
