Mogadishu19 Fabaury 2009 Waagacusub Media

Somalia’s most popular Islamist clerics who had been gathering in Mogadishu for the country’s future on Thursday concluded their week long meeting issuing statement ordering the unity government of Somalia to rule the country with Sharia law and other key points over solving the internal crisis.

The clerics from in and outside of the country said in their statement that there are articles in the Somali’s federal charter opposing the Islamic religion and therefore there should be some amendments on it in consultation with reliable Sheiks.

The statement which was containing nine principles also said that it is obligatory that the extended parliament should take practicing Islam within 90 days.

The government should exit the African Union troops out of the country within 120 days in peaceful means and not through fighting.

The clerics did raise in their statement about the Islamist hardliners who vowed to continue the Jihad against the government led by moderate Sharif Sheik Ahmed who they see as spy to the Western powers.
