Somalia:Top Somali clerics to oppose radicals.

The most popular moderate Somali clerics are due to gather in unusual meeting over the country’s future and they are expected to issue religious Fatwa ordering that it is obligatory to kill what they called ‘the century’s Islamic strangers’ which they mean the radical group of Al-Shabab that controls much of southern regions.

The clerics are coming from all the regions in Somalia while some of them are coming from Somaliland, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, UAE and Egypt. It will be the first of such religious gathering.

Among the sheiks is Sheik Ali Warsame, who was being accused of showing desirable action over Al-Shabab’s movement but now spearheading the campaign against the radicals.

The Islamist rebels threatened to blow up the area of the clerics’ meeting but there have been precaution step to tighten the security of the zone by the Islamic Courts Union militiamen together with the transitional federal government troops.

If the Islamic scholars agreed the picture of Al-Shabab men as ‘strangers’ then people will spare no efforts to fight against them.
